Which job do you have?
These are different problems with different buyers, different evidence and different standards. Nobody arrives knowing whether they need Clear or Purge, so pick the sentence that sounds like your week.

Everything above produces the same artefact: a signed, machine-checkable record. The thing that makes it evidence is that you do not need us to check it.
Verify without us
The public verifier takes any certificate, needs no account, and tells you whether the record is intact and who attested to it. The desktop apps verify offline with no network at all.
Open format
Certificates are plain JSON with a documented canonical form and an ML-DSA-65 (FIPS 204) signature. You can check one with our software, or without it.
Silence is not success
When a drive cannot confirm it finished, no certificate is issued. An erasure nobody observed is not evidence, and we would rather hand you nothing than something that looks like proof.
The limits, before you buy rather than after
File erasure is NIST 800-88 Clear, not Purge. On SSD and flash, wear-levelling means an overwrite often never reaches the original cells, and journalling filesystems, snapshots, backups and cloud sync keep their own copies. FileX SSD Eraser reports this per volume rather than staying quiet about it.
Only FileX Drive Purge performs Purge, and only on external, removable, non-boot drives — the boot disk is refused. It ships for Linux and Windows only, because macOS cannot pass a sanitize command through a USB or Thunderbolt bridge at all.
We hold no SOC 2 report, no organisational ISO 27001 certificate, and no ADISA or Common Criteria product certification. If your tender requires one, we do not meet it today. The full list is here.
Licensing
File erasers are licensed per endpoint, per year. Drive Purge is licensed per drive sanitized, because an ITAD’s value scales with assets processed rather than with workstations.
